A New Boost for Unsigned Acts (app-stars.tv)
I was browsing the web the other day and came across a new website and app in it's early development stage. app-stars.tv is a new video based website which if free for unsigned artists to upload videos. The key concept of this is that the band/acoustic performer/singer/songwriters all get noticed and promote their music videos.
app-stars.tv has seen a huge amount of hits after the X Factor contestant Amelia lily went on stage, she uploaded a video to the website two months before going onto TV.
What are the odds in of succeeding without a record deal?
Well in this day in age a lot of bands are found virally, take arctic monkeys for instance they were found via myspace.com.
The idea behind app-stars.tv is for unsigned bands or artists to be picked up within moments. The music scouts could use this website and offer a band with say 50,000 thumbs up a record deal.
